Hi Lisa!

I'm Marisa, and I've actually posted here a few times and emailed you. I really dig the honesty, analysis, and Disability (yes with a "big D") consciousness you put into your blog.

Keep up the good work. Now that I'm moving away from my grad school circle of friends, I may just post more often on my blog. We'll see. I tend to like writing emails to specific people, so I can cater my message to that person/audience. Getting used to the more general blogging habit. Will my blog turn more personal? Maybe.

You mentioned earlier in this blog that you used to have a different blog. Was that also very personal? I'm kind of struggling with what kind of personal to general ratio I want on my blog. How or when did you decide to define what level/depth of detail you wanted to go into? I notice you often use abbreviated names or pseudonyms, too.

Anyway, thanks again for sharing your thoughts with the world. Oh, and I think I first found your blog on the Temple University Disability Studies blog, in a few blog roundup posts.

Hi!!

I read your blog all the time and find it so interesting. I am a 40 something mother from Cardiff in the UK.

Linda

Hi! I'm still here.

Lynn C

Hey there! I'm Lynn and I've been reading your blog since about August, when I discovered the world of blogs (who knew??). I'm not sure how I got here but love your insights, intelligent commentary and the chronicle of your life with your sons. I'm 53, divorced for 20 years, with four grown sons (all bio) between the ages of 22-30 years, plus I have three daughters adopted from China (ages 4, 6, and 6) and am expecting to go pick up my new 7 year old son in China sometime this spring. I work full-time as an LCSW,live in northern CA, and completely love my life (except for the 45 minutes each morning before we all have to leave the house!). Thanks for sharing your life.

Emmie (Better Make It A Double)

Thanks, Lisa!

Hey Lisa! I've been reading for about six months now. Live in Portland. My dad is a C-6 quad (injured over 40 years ago), mom is/was clinically depressed, adopted sister has developmental disabilities, brother a tad bi-polar (if that's possible). Where's my support group??? Kidding. I mean, unless the support group offers free doughnuts. I guess I just like to read about someone living their life, disabilities and all. Love your writing, your perspectives. Rock on!

I'm not a complete lurker, but hi anyway. I usually erase half the commments I write (not just on your blog) because they come out sounding wrong.

I started reading when Shannon linked to your blog (maybe a year ago?).

I'm here!

Hi Lisa! I've commented a few times. I'm from the St. Louis area.

Angela

I may have been reading your blog for maybe a year or something. I am a 24 year old blind mother of a 15 month old son. When I need to hear about someone who is going through similar frustrations and joys I like to read your blog.

i lurk. i'm a wheelchair-using medical student who wants to have a baby sometime soon. i love coming to your blog to reconnect with the values of my tribe when the world of the doctors gets to be too much, and just to hear about your family and your world.

I have no idea how I originally found you, but I've been reading for a long time. I'm a mom of 3 from Chicago, and I love reading about your kids. I love your honesty, and strength.

Stacie

Hi, I found you via Indigo Girl.

Amanda/MayhemMama

I found your blog through Peter's Cross Station, and have been reading ever since.

Thank you for your writing!

I've commented before, but I wanted to let you know that I still read your blog- not always as often as I'd like, but I really enjoy it when I have the chance. We got the walker wagon after seeing the photos of your boys with something similar. The boys love pushing each other in it. Thanks for the idea!

Melina

I read and have for a while. Can't remember how I found your blog, but I read all the time.

I'm not a lurker, exactly, as I've been reading for a while and I *think* I've commented before. I just wanted to drop by and thank you for the lovely comment you left at my blog. We do have a lot of strange parallels in our lives. I have to say, finding your blog was a real inspiration to me. I am so impressed at what a wonderful job you do taking care of your boys with very little help. Your Montessori-based play ideas have made it into our repertoire, and when I'm struggling with Maddie and Riley on my own, I often think of you, Aaron, and Naim and find it in me to keep on going.

God willing, we'll be out your way for a week in Feb. Maybe we can work out a blogger meetup. I'll e-mail you.

All the best to you and your family.

Hi. I am a 25 yo woman from the South (yes, capital S South). I think I came across your blog actually by typing "letter to my children" in a search engine. I was on a kick about ethical wills several months ago. I have a lot of time to kill at work these days.

Anyway, I enjoy your blog, especially your experiences as a deaf/ blind parent and your take on disability issues. This is not something I ever thought of before, but disabilities are something that can and do affect everyone at some point in their lives. So, now I think about it. I don't yet have any children, and I still haven't written an ethical will. But I do like your blog.

Hi!
I'm a 40 year old mom of 6 from the South. I came across your blog when I googled something about Oprah 6 or 7 months ago... and haven't missed a post since!
