I can see why logically it might be the best course of action given all the circumstances, but I know it must hurt. I think you are doing a wonderful job..you take on so much responsibility on top of having your darling boys. You are my hero.

You are a raving success, Lisa.

You have kept this from happening for YEARS. You have twins whom you manage with aplomb. You are a caring partner and a responsible professional.

Sometimes, stuff happens that is not within one's control and in spite of those crappy circumstances, you have still managed to make excellent, thoughtful, loving choices in whatever aspect you have a choice.

Same with D. Ya'll are great parents and great people and you do very well under a great deal of duress.

I don't think you realize how easy so many of us have it and you hold yourself to way, way, way high standards. You make me feel like a majorly spoiled lazy wench!

Yes, yes, what shannon said! Aren't you being a little too hard on yourself?

I hope things go well (for all of you) while D is away, and that he makes a good recovery.

Lisa,
I had to put my 21 yr old husband in a nursing home/rehab facility. The circumstances were different, but it was heartbreaking. I totally understand your pain, and I sincerely hope he gets out soon. I will be thinking about you guys, and I hope all goes as well as possible. -Amy

Oh Lisa, I am so sorry to read this. You cried, D cried the Chaplain cried and I cried too. It must have been so hard to say the 'I refuse to care for him' part. I am so sorry. But I am heartened to hear the place sounds ok. I hope the healing goes well. Thank god you can bring the kids and a pet. hugs.
